Hollywood friends can sometimes be supportive friends, too. JoJo Siwa says despite some of the backlash she’s received from critics, she’s gotten plenty of love and support from some of the biggest stars in the celebrity world. Here’s what she has to say.
In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, the former Dance Moms star says she’s the happiest she’s ever been since coming out to the world and that “literally everyone on planet Earth” has reached out to her since she made her announcement back in January.
“The night that I came out, Iggy Azalea actually texted me. She was like, ‘Oh, my God, I’m so happy for you. This is amazing,'” recalls Siwa, who is dating her best friend turned girlfriend, Kylie Prew. “It was like 3 a.m. at this point. This was before Kylie and I were on FaceTime every single night sleeping. We talked for a while and I got to tell her everything. It was really sweet. She was there as a friend.”

She said that other celebrities like Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller, Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton have also shown her some love, too.
And while stars like JoJo will always have their critics, the blonde beauty says that she’s very thankful for all of the love and support she’s gotten from her fans and supporters so far. Here’s what she has to say.
“I’ve never gotten this much support from the world,” the former Dance Moms star told People Magazine.
“I think this is the first time that I’ve felt so personally happy. Performing has always made me super happy. But for the first time, personally, I am like, whoa, happiness. I am so proud to be me.”
With that said, JoJo added that she shies away from labels, saying she’s trying to figure out her sexuality.
“I still don’t know what I am. It’s like, I want to figure it out,” she admits. “And I have this joke. Her name is Kylie. And so I say that I’m Ky-sexual. But like, I don’t know, bisexual, pansexual, queer, lesbian, gay, straight. I always just say gay because it just kind of covers it or queer because I think the keyword is cool.”
JoJo added that while she’s super happy with the response that she’s so far gotten from her fans, she did make the mistake of googling herself and reading some of the comments she’s gotten after coming out.
“I never should have done that. I was thinking that all the comments were going to be nice and supportive, and they weren’t,” she recalls. “A lot of them were, ‘I’m never buying your merch again. My daughter’s never watching you again.’ I couldn’t sleep for three days.”
