’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers indicate that Natalie Mordotseva Youngquist is a vegetarian. She had hinted at it before, but now we realized that it’s for religious reasons. She started being a vegetarian when she was on a Christian Orthodox cleanse, a spiritual journey where you cleanse your mind, body and soul and are really strict about what you eat, she said after this cleanse that she believed that it made her a better person.
She started this journey 8 years ago, so by the time she met hubby Mike Youngquist was was firmly entrenched in this belief. Now Mike and Mom-in-law Trish are dragging her to a place that she doesn’t want to be, a butcher shop.

Natalie viewed it as the ultimate form of disrespect. Mike’s Mom, Trish, was literally making nothing on the menu that didn’t have some form of meat in it. Even the salad was shrimp salad, which, has meat. Then to take Natalie to a place where meat is openly on display, it made her nauseated.
The thing is when you’ve been used to being Vegan or Vegetarian for so long, that consuming meat will make you sick, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Natalie would get nauseated from looking at cuts of meat hanging up. Is it extreme? Yes, but it’s not that hard to imagine.
Mike didn’t even bother going after Natalie when she ran out of the store. He was too busy helping his Mom pick out the turkey for thanksgiving. Mike didn’t see it as a big deal, he said he was trying to make Natalie feel included, but to totally disregard her way of life really implies that he’s not trying at all and he just wants her to conform to what he wants in a wife – which, it would seem, is not Natalie.
It looks like Mike just thought that Natalie would lose all of her quirks once she got to the US and conform to what he wanted, and Trish is not helping matters. Trish is your typical boy Mom that spoils her son to the point where they’re almost unbearble to live with, and you can definitely see that in Mike. It’s clear to see the writing on the wall here.
