A little Vitamin D in the form of sunshine can certainly do wonders for someone’s state of being. If you don’t believe it, just ask Prince Harry, who says that he feels so much healthier and happier now that he’s settled in to life in sunny Southern California.
In fact, the Duke of Sussex told Dax Shepard in the Armchair Expert podcast that he finally feels “free” after living a miserable existence behind closed palace doors back in the UK. Here’s what he has to say.
Prince Harry Tells Dax Shepard That His Mental Health Has Improved While Living In Los Angeles
While a lot of people are surprised that someone like Prince Harry would take the time to talk to a Hollywood star like Dax Shepard – and on a podcast, no less – he actually had some interesting things to say. During the interview, Prince Harry made it no secret that he now feels more “free” than ever before.
He said, “Living here now I can actually lift my head and actually I feel different, my shoulders have dropped, so has hers, you can walk around feeling a little bit more free. I can take Archie on the back of my bicycle. I never had the chance to do that.”
Prince Harry also opened up about his mental health struggles as a kid. He said, “[I was told] You need help. As a case of, not weakness but ‘I don’t know how to deal with this. You’re unhinged, you’re not very well, go and seek help. Everyone of us will try to find some way to mask the actual feeling and try to feel different than how we actually feel.”
The Duke of Sussex also said that he would like to see more people openly talking about mental health. “For me, unfortunately in today’s world it’s quite a sensitive subject, not just for people who are sharing, but ultimately the subject matter itself it has to be handled with care. When it ends up getting weaponized by certain people you can’t predict it. It doesn’t worry me anymore,” he added.
