This month, the Pennsylvania Parole Board dashed Cosby’s hopes to be released from prison by denying his request for parole.

The Pennsylvania Parole Board has said that several factors were examined when it came to making its decision to rule against The Cosby Show alum.

One big factor was Cosby’s lack of a parole release plan, however, the biggest obstacle Cosby faced was even more his own doing- the 83 year old refused to participate in a treatment program for sex offenders.

A third and final strike against Cosby was the negative recommendation he received from the Department of Corrections.

Cosby did not show any surprise at the outcome, knowing he would be denied the parole by willfully refusing to attend the sex offender program.

Cosby’s lawyer has said that his client “maintains his innocence, denying all allegations made against him as being false, without the sheer evidence of any proof.” Due to this stance, he has no plans to attend the therapy programs.

Once reported as saying he fully expects to serve his full sentence after vowing to show no remorse for crimes he said he didn’t commit, the television star is now hopeful the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court will overturn his conviction and potentially grant him a new trial.

Cosby was convicted of aggravated indecent assault in September 2018 and sentenced to 3-to-10 years in prison. This conviction was for the assault of only one victim, former professional basketball player, Andrea Constand.

In all, Cosby has over sixty women accusing him of rape, drug facilitated sexual assault, sexual battery, or other sexual misconduct.

There were also two instances of alleged child sexual abuse, both involving girls 15 years of age. The earliest alleged incidents took place in the mid-1960s, with the rest scattered all the way until the latest in 2008.
