‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ (B&B) spoilers find that Vinny has left this green earth, crumpled and battered on the side of the road after having his corpse mugged by Bill Spencer (Don Diamont). What a way to go. But portrayer, Joe LoCicero has nothing but gratitude for the cast and crew on “The Bold’, his first soap experience.
“I’ve loved playing this character,” LoCicero told Soap Opera Digest. “I had a lot of fun working with Matt [Atkinson, Thomas]. We always had a good time with our scenes. It was just a joy.”
Joe was almost as blindsided as audiences about, not only Vinny’s unexpected death, but his involvement in Steffy Forrester’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) baby-daddy DNA switch. He claims he was only given the heads up about the twists a couple of episodes before shooting the scenes!
‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers : Joe LoCicero (Vinny Walker) Says Goodbye
Joe explained about not knowing about both his sudden departure and his character’s wrong-doings, “It wasn’t a lot of notice because they wanted to keep the story a secret. I actually didn’t know that Vinny switched the paternity test results until, like, two days before that episode. They wanted it to be such a big secret that they didn’t even tell me [laughs].”
Joe is married to actress Gina Rodriguez, best known for her role on Jane the Virgin (where the couple met- Joe played a stripper!), but who got her start while mixing with the Forrester Creations crew herself as Beverly. Gina was apparently more upset than Joe at Vinny’s demise.
“I think she was a little sad that I was going to be off the show, because we really enjoyed watching it together, but we were both really glad I had this time on the show,” Joe said, especially grateful as Vinny was originally only written to appear in a handful of episodes when Joe was cast back in 2019. Joe was always excited when he got the call from producers to reprise the role.
Unfortunately, that wont be happening again, as we all witnessed Vinny take his dying breath on Tuesday (well, except for Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) who was passed out, cold). Unless of course, Vinny has a twin or has a Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) type resurrection, or if flash back scenes need to be filmed.
Okay, there are plenty of reasons Joe could be back, but until then, we say goodbye to Joe and goodbye to Vinny.
