‘The Bachelor’ spoilers find that when it comes to offending others, some people really have a knack for it. Who knew that Bachelor Nation star, Kaitlyn Bristowe would be the one doing it though.
She has recently apologized to a current Bachelor contestant, Chelsea Vaughn about the comments she made about hair insecurities. This conversation is raising a lot of eyebrows in Bachelor Nation and some fans aren’t quite sure what to think.
‘The Bachelor’ Spoilers: Instagram Tells All
Bristowe posted on her Instagram account that she had been educating herself on Black hair. She posted, “I was doing some research. Here’s what happened: I was watch the Bachelor on Monday, as I always do, and it came time for Chelsea to go and sit down with Matt James. And Chelsea is up there for me. I really like her. I think she’s stunning. I think she’s down-to-earth. I think she has a great energy about her. Then I selfishly stopped listening when she talked about hair in Black history and culture.”
‘The Bachelor’ Spoilers: Kaitlyn Bristow’s Apology
She continued, “I instead, immediately started talking to Jason Tartick about hair. I was like, ‘Yeah, there is emotional attachment. I’m so insecure about my hair.’ I feel completely, completely ignorant. I am ignorant. I was ignorant in that moment not to listen to the rest of her story and understand the history behind why she has insecurities around her hair.”
Bristowe went on even more, “I owe Chelsea and apology. I owe a lot of people that are following me an apology for my ignorance. What I did was go to my Instagram and do a paid partnership comparing my story to Chelsea’s about insecurities around hair. I am humiliated. I am so humiliated that I did not listen. Shame on me for contributing to making a profit off of a Black woman’s struggle.”
Chelsea has yet to reach out to Bristowe about the post, but it seems as if other Bachelor Nation stars have. She talked to Taylor Nolan for a while about the issues that Bristowe brought up.
She said, “Thank you for reaching out, Taylor, and for chatting with me today. I should not rely on women of color to help explain these sort of things because I can do the work on my own.” Bristowe did take it upon herself to tag Chelsea in all of these posts, so we will see if the two come to some sort of arrangement to talk about what happened.
