Now this is something that a lot of us have known for many years now. Britain’s NHS has warned people not to follow the advice of Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow after she made Covid-19 and health claims on her website, Goop.

The actress claimed that a change in her diet and some fasting helped treat her long-term coronavirus symptoms. However, the NHS wants people to steer clear from her advice. Here’s what you need to know.

Gwyneth is facing a whole lot of criticism from a British health official for promoting unscientific claims about Covid-19. The Oscar winner recently admitted that she has been dealing with some lingering symptoms from the virus, such as long-tail fatigue and brain fog.

Even though she doesn’t have a health or science background herself, Gwyneth says that a change in her diet and some good old fasting helped bring her body back to the way it was before.

Gwyneth also says she consulted functional medicine practitioner Dr. Will Cole who recommended she start fasting until 11 a.m. every day and eat a keto and plant-based diet.

England’s Professor Stephen Powis told the BBC that people simply need to ignore Gwyneth Paltrow and not listen to a word she says, calling her blog nothing but misinformation.

“Like the virus, misinformation carries across borders and it mutates and it evolves,” he said. “So I think YouTube and other social media platforms have a real responsibility and opportunity here.”

He continued: “In the last few days I see Gwyneth Paltrow is unfortunately suffering from the effects of Covid. We wish her well, but some of the solutions she’s recommending are really not the solutions we’d recommend in the NHS. We need to take long Covid seriously and apply serious science. All influencers who use social media have a duty of responsibility and a duty of care around that.”
