Back in November, Teen Mom 2 OG Chelsea Houska-De Boer announced she was leaving the MTV fly-on-the-wall show. On part one of the Teen Mom 2 reunion show, she broke the news to her fellow cast mates. Next week’s part two of the reunion will herald the fan-favorite’s last appearance with the franchise.
Chelsea has had MTV’s cameras follow her life since 2009 when she was a pregnant teenager. The 16 and Pregnant appearance, revealing the tumultuous relationship with Adam Lind, the father of baby Aubree, led to Chelsea joining the cast of the spin-off Teen Mom 2 at its inception in 2011.
‘Teen Mom 2’ Spoilers: Chelsea Houska says goodbye to the MTV hit show.
Part of fan-favorite Chelsea’s appeal is her centered lifestyle with no major dramas. This is refreshing when compared to other Teen Moms like controversial ex-castmate Jenelle Evans, fired after her husband shot the family dog. In front of their gaggle of kids.
Chelsea has grown into a mature woman before our eyes (and Aubree into a funny and smart 11 year old) Fans cheered Chelsea on when she FINALLY ditched her deadbeat baby-daddy Adam and were elated when she met incredibly kind and supportive (and hot) husband Cole De Boer.
With Teen Mom 2 viewers privy to Chelsea and Cole’s courtship, wedding, and becoming a busy family with two more kids added to the De Boer brood, fans can only hope that Chelsea will share further updates on her fourth child with whom she is currently pregnant.
While Chelsea is wistful about bringing her tenure with MTV to an end, she certainly doesn’t have to worry about money. Surprisingly, she is the second most cashed-up of the Teen Mom stars (only trailing pregnant-teen-turned-adult-entertainer, Farrah Abraham). Chelsea is worth a reported 2 million dollars!
It seems the hardest part about Chelsea’s departure is saying goodbye to the camera crew who, other than a short break during the pandemic when the show’s stars filmed themselves, have been with Chelsea, Aubree and their family for over a decade.
“We are forever thankful to MTV and our crew, who are like family to us,” Chelsea wrote in a farewell post on Instagram. “We’re parting on the best of terms and will stay in touch long after this.”
Chelsea’s final appearance will be in Part two of the Teen Mom 2 reunion where a tribute to her decade on the show will surely leave Chelsea and her fans in tears. Don’t miss it this Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on MTV.
