2020 is the year for all of our mental health to crumble and it’s completely all right. Celebrities are dealing with this a lot too. One celebrity that has also had some issues with her mental health this year is TikTok sensation, Charli D’Amelio.

Charli has gotten over 100 million fans this year and it has been a lot for her. She has gotten overwhelmed with the cyber bullying and has had to learn to cope with her anxiety.

Charli D’Amelio: Charli Opens Up

Charli appeared on  the Facebook show, “Here For It” with Avani Gregg. She opened up to her about her struggles, “I used to have such bad panic attacks in the third grade. This is what happened and this is how it affected me up until literally three weeks ago. It hurt so bad I didn’t want to talk about it… I will cry for three days straight and I’m not even Charli anymore. I’m just this emotional person that doesn’t function properly. And I get into these, like, really, really bad places, and it’s scary for me.”

She went on, “I’m not myself, and I don’t know what takes over, but it’s just so much built up that I’m trying to get out all at once, and it’s really tough. Especially when you have everyone feeling like they have an invitation to say anything about you. No matter how many people you have, how many followers, how many followers, how many friends…I’ve never felt as alone as I do. It’s scary but I need to talk about it.”

Charli has made sure that her fans know how much therapy means to her. It has made her life a lot easier and happier. She feels that her fans don’t need to look down on people that go to therapy and she says that there is such a stigma for those who go to therapy. She loves it and loves her therapist.

“Even if you think, ‘Hey, I’m doing great,’ it doesn’t hurt to get help. It doesn’t hurt to talk to someone. It’s genuinely really awesome because even though sometimes you feel genuinely alone, you have someone to talk to.”

This is the year to open up more about our mental health and Charli is setting a great example for her younger fans and even those who don’t think therapy is needed. We look up to her for being so open about her mental health journey.
