While it’s usually the bride who is doing everything she can to make herself look flawless for her wedding day, it looks like the groom here wants to look like he’s in tip top shape as well. Country singer Blake Shelton recently said that he would like to lose at least 10 pounds before he gets married to his longtime love, Gwen Stefani. Here’s what he has to say.
The country singer opened up about his pre-wedding health goal in an interview with the Party Barn Radio with Luke Bryan on Apple Music. I feel like if I say 10 [pounds], I have to do it,” he said. “So 10. It’s out there now. I can’t let people down.”

“I’ve readjusted all the mirrors in the house, so they look like when you’re taking a selfie from up above, because I can’t even stand to look at myself in the mirror,” Shelton joked. “So, I’ve rearranged them where they’re kind of angled down, looking down on me, so I’m looking up and it’s not so bad.”
Back in September Blake poked fun of the weight that he gained while in quarantine in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres. He sarcastically said that he gained more 100 pounds and that he couldn’t enjoy his gray-dyed hair because of it.
“I actually really liked it. I would have really liked it better had I not gained 117 pounds during quarantine,” he told DeGeneres at the time. “I thought it made me look younger, but I was still just as fat. Now I’m actually trying to lose weight.”
Meanwhile, in a new interview with The Today Show, Gwen Stefani talked about her gratitude for her privileges and her triumphs.
“This is the thing, I always feel like this whole thing that we’re doing here, this life thing, is a test,” she said. “And basically, you get given all of these crazy challenges to trick you to think that maybe it’s not a test and maybe nothing good is going to be around the corner.”
Gwen also opened up about her painful divorce from her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. “I had all those fetal positions for a while,” the star admitted. “I know that everything that happens in my life isn’t happening in time with what people see.”
She continued, “For me, I was turning to my faith right away. That was a seed that my mom planted in me when I was a little girl … it’s a journey. It’s almost like you get lost, it’s like you get lost on your journey. We all do and we all will and I will again at some point I’m sure.”
