Kirk Cameron is not going to let something like a global pandemic get in the way of his holiday cheer this year. The actor has been slammed for hosting a Christmas caroling ‘protest’ to oppose California’s statewide pandemic stay-at-home order.
Kirk, who believe it or not is 50, organized a Sunday rally at a mall parking lot in Thousand Oaks, Calif. The footage he posted on Instagram showed a live band and hundreds of maskless people. He planned the event in conjunction with Sing It Louder USA in opposition to Calif. Gov. Gavin Newsom’s stay-at-home order, which took effect as hospital intensive care units dropped below 15% capacity.
Kirk Cameron Slammed For Hosting Christmas Carol Protest Over Covid-19
“God Bless America. Joy over fear!” Cameron wrote in a post promoting photos of the “protest.” ”If you love God, if you love Christmas and you love liberty, you’re not going to want to miss this,” Cameron said in a video at the time.

Of course, it didn’t take very long for fans to point out that Kirk was spreading more than just a little holiday cheer.
“This is one of the most irresponsible things I’ve seen lately,” one observer slammed, in reference to California’s spiking coronavirus infections. “To him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin…”
Another critic said, “No social distancing and only a couple of people wearing masks? This is so disrespectful and disappointing. “This isn’t about your right to do it, this is about a country currently crippled by death from Covid-19 and the unwillingness to do what’s right. It’s a slap in the face to the health workers who are trying to treat everyone and the ones who are at risk of this and doing the right thing.”
So far Kirk Cameron has not made any comments about the criticism.
