A host of celebrities have reacted to the news that Jeopardy host Alex Trebek has died. Trebek has passed away at the age of 80. He died following his battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
As many fans know, Trebek hosted the show for 36 years and continued to do so even though he announced that he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer back in March of 2019. The beloved host continued to film episodes during his cancer treatments and shared emotional moments with fans and contestants.
Hollywood Celebrities Remember Alex Trebek
Many celebrities took to their social media accounts to share their favorite memories of the legendary television host. Singer and songwriter John Legend wrote, “I was obsessed with Jeopardy as a nerdy kid growing up in Ohio. I’ve loved and revered Alex Trebek since I can remember. What an iconic career. RIP Alex Trebek.”
Actor Ryan Reynolds, who also hails from Canada, wrote, “Alex Trebek was kind enough to film a cameo for our film Free Guy last year despite his battle. He was gracious and funny. In addition to being curious, stalwart, generous, reassuring and of course, Canadian. We love you, Alex. And always will.”
Fellow television host of Family Feud Steve Harvey said that Alex was the “classiest game show host of all time.” He wrote, “My heart is so sad over the passing of the classiest game show host of all time!!! His style was real to me …… condolences to his entire family and fans #AlexTrebek.”
Ryan Seacrest also said that Alex Trebek was a huge influence on him while he was growing up.
“Alex Trebek was like a family member who I watched every night. I remember going to the set to watch him tape a show before I started my TV career,” Seacrest tweeted. “He was a big influence and one of a kind. Rest In Peace, Alex.”
