Chrissy Teigen is defending Meghan Markle and her right to open up about the loss, pain and grief that she experienced over the miscarriage she experienced back in July. Chrissy herself lost her baby in October.
The Duchess of Sussex, who is married to Prince Harry and shares an 18-month old son named Archie with the royal, detailed her miscarriage experience in an opinion article for the New York Times on Wednesday. She says that she sensed that something was not right on the morning that she miscarried while she was taking care of her son.
Chrissy Teigen Defends Meghan Markle For Her NY Times Op-Ed Miscarriage Reveal
When one disgruntled critic on Twitter wrote, “Is anyone really questioning the pain and sheer awfulness of suffering a miscarriage, or are they perhaps criticizing Meghan’s decision to write a 1,000 word op-Ed about herself? What does it add to the resources already available for those who go through a tragedy like this?” it didn’t take very long for Chrissy to respond with, “Meghan Markle won’t see the all of the nasty s–t you write about her but your friends who have experienced miscarriages and the loss of a baby will.”
The model then added, “Award for today’s absolute piece of s–t goes to. Congratulations, piece of s–t.”
Chrissy then told her followers, “Sorry forgot I’m trying to be nicer lol.”
Back in October, Chrissy announced on her social media account that she has miscarried her third child, a boy that she and her husband John Legend named Jack. Chrissy wrote that her doctors were not able to stop the constant bleeding that she was experiencing, and therefore couldn’t adequately get her baby boy the fluids he needed to survive. Before that, she had been placed on a mandatory two-week bed rest. The model didn’t specifically state how far along she was, but she had said previously that she was about halfway through her pregnancy, so around 4 or 5 months.
