British Royal Family News says that if we’ve learned anything about Meghan Markle over these last few years, it’s that she’s going to do things her way, regardless of what anyone has to say about it. As a matter of fact, feminist leader Gloria Steinem recently revealed that the Duchess of Sussex has been cold-calling voters ahead of the U.S. Presidential election in November. According to a new report, the activist praised Meghan for working against a “princess” stereotype by cold-calling potential voters and urging them to act on their right to help elect public officials. Gloria Steinem made her comments during a recent interview with Access Hollywood.

“[Markle] is such an inspiration to me because she has a kind of stereotype hanging over her head, which is ‘princess,'” explained the author. “… The whole idea of ‘princess’ is a problem, we had a whole revolution to get rid of royalty. Meg is herself, smart, authentic, funny, political.”
A lot of royal critics are side-eyeing the move, as it would go against Queen Elizabeth’s royal rules of not engaging in anything political. Or at least, not in public.
Just last month, Meghan and Gloria talked about how important it was to encourage women to vote for this year’s election now more than ever before. “People forget how hard women like you, and so many others before you, fought for us to just be where we are right now,” Markle stated.
In response, Steinem said, “If you don’t vote, you don’t exist. It is the only place we’re all equal, the voting booth.” “What worries me the most are young people, who I understand are the least likely to vote and I can understand the feeling that they don’t think they have an impact,” the social activist said.
She added: “Yet, it’s more important for them to vote than anyone else because they’re going to be alive long after I am, and they’re going to be suffering the consequences.” When Meghan asked Gloria if she feels hopeful that young women will vote this year, Gloria said that she certainly does.
