Samoa Joe holds a special place in the hearts of many WWE fans, as he is often considered one of the best all-round superstars on the roster. That has been evident over the past couple of weeks as he has been shining on commentary on Raw, but fans are hopeful of seeing Joe back in the ring sometime soon.
That day could be soon approaching, as it has been teased that he isn’t that far away from being fully fit to return to the ring. But, when he does finally make his return, which superstars would fans be hopeful of seeing him square off against?
WWE News: Samoa Joe vs Seth Rollins
One rivalry that was teased a couple of weeks ago was Seth Rollins vs Samoa Joe. Rollins took exception to comments that were made by Tom Phillips on commentary, before Joe stood up against the Monday Night Messiah in defence of his broadcast partner. Fans quickly took to social media hoping that this could have been the first indicator that Joe is close to returning.
It would make sense for this to be his first rivalry back in the ring, as he could even form a team with Dominik Mysterio to take out Rollins and Murphy for good. There could be a chance that we could see Samoa Joe jump to the rescue of Dominik at SummerSlam at the end of the month.
WWE News: Samoa Joe vs Keith Lee
There are a number of huge rivalries that Joe could get involved with on the main roster, but potentially one of the most intriguing could see him return back to NXT to take on Keith Lee. Joe often has a strength advantage over many of his opponents, but this certainly wouldn’t be the case against the NXT Champion. Joe already has roots in NXT, and his return to the show would be an interesting proposition.
Lee has been tearing it down for the past year, and the potential of seeing these two go head-to-head would be something that would be PPV worthy. There is a chance that this match may happen in the future, but it may not be the first match back. Instead, it may happen when Lee makes his inevitable debut on the main roster at some point down the line.
