This week, along with every other problematic YouTuber, PewDiePie released his apology video, concerning his pancakes. Apparently, awhile back there was a video of him making what he called ‘Swedish pancakes’ but a lot of pancake stans decided to slide into his DMs and correct him telling him that these were not Swedish pancakes, they were regular old European pancakes, or, in other words, crepes.

But PewDiePie stood his ground and said that if he grew up eating them and they were called Swedish Pancakes then that is what he’s going to call them. He’s going to call a spade a spade and stand by his beliefs. He is not going to virtue-signal to anyone about pancakes. He has done his research and knows his truth and has found an authentic Swedish pancake recipe online. He went into an entire tirade about what sort of inventions that his home country of Sweden has given the world, I didn’t know Minecraft came from Sweden, did you?

In case any of you are wondering, Swedish Pancakes, according to PewDiePie are very thin crepes with jam in the middle of them. Sounds like your normal, run of the mill, crepe to me, but he says that they are made differently. Some people even put Nutella in them but that Nutella is not the Swedish way, and he should know since he himself is Swedish. It looks like PewDiePie is completely proud of his pancake heritage and where they came from, even though he did make a small concession for his viewership and say that he didn’t know the rest of Europe made them that way as well. When we know better, we do better.

However, there has not been an apology for the cocomelon incident, in fact, there were several cocomelon incidents in the video and he seemed pretty proud of them. I mean, I don’t know if the world is ready for an unapologetic cocomelon incident. Being unapologetic about cocomelons is a risky move in today’s social climate, but you know, it could just be the move we need. We need brave souls who are proud of their pancake heritage and their cocomelon incidents, maybe this will end cancel culture. Stay tuned!!!
