For Ellen DeGeneres, cancel culture has hit where it hurts the most: at home. There’s mounting speculation that Ellen DeGeneres’ career might be sliding into a sinkhole with no way out because of all the allegations made against her and the ‘toxic’ workplace environment behind the scenes at her talk show. Here’s what you need to know.

According to Page Six, columnist Francesca Bacardi can’t help but wonder if all of the scandals, negative headlines, and now the investigation into the workplace allegations means this might be the beginning to the end of Ellen DeGeneres and her position in the celebrity world. Actually, make that her position and her entire entertainment career.

Ellen DeGeneres Is Already Being Called A ‘Canceled Celebrity’

Bacardi writes, “With allegations that run the gamut from racism to intimidation and fear on the set of her eponymous talk show, DeGeneres is facing an uphill battle. Not only is her show under investigation, but DeGeneres also has faced backlash for showing how out of touch with reality she has become.

She compared the coronavirus lockdown to being in jail despite filming from her $27 million estate. However, her problems began far before the shutdown.”

Eric Schiffer, chairman of Reputation Management Consultants, believes that Ellen’s future is looking very bleak, and that’s putting it lightly. As a matter of fact, he believes that the results of the investigation could have “deadly consequences” for Ellen’s career and her brand.

For the longest time the daytime television talk show host prided herself for being the “nicest” person in the celebrity world.

“She could be perpetrating one of the biggest frauds in American celebrity history,” he suggested to Fox News earlier in the week. “There are now serious investigators looking into the allegations and if the findings are as damning as what has been reported then you could watch the ‘Ellen Show’ go boom.”

Executive producer Ed Glavin recently released a statement addressing all of the rumors about the Ellen DeGeneres show being a “toxic work environment.”

“We are truly heartbroken and sorry to learn that even one person in our production family has had a negative experience,” they said. “It’s not who we are and not who we strive to be, and not the mission Ellen has set for us.”
