CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers is saying what better way to enjoy the summer heat then to watch the first ever episodes of the ever-classic Y&R. On Monday, July 20, producers reran episodes from March 26 and 27, 1973, where the episodes were only a shocking 30-minutes long.
The show features the Brooks sisters and the Snapper. Do you even remember any of these people? And that filming – so different than it is not. The episode begins with some guy named Brad in a truck.
Yes, you heard that right. People in Genoa City actually do have vehicles. It’s an odd kickoff because Brad is being overwhelmed with an internal dialogue of him asking a woman to abort a child. 1973, people. Brad gets dropped off at a restaurant, despite his rough appearance.
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: The Dawn of Time
Brad can’t afford a meal but politely orders one anyways. It was clearly a very different time back then. Thankfully, Stuart Brooks offers to pay for the meal and follows up by offering Brad a job. (What?)
Somewhere else in this odd Universe is a cop talking to Brad’s wife, giving her the news that Brad is dead. Even though clearly, he isn’t – he’s just at a diner and about to become a writer for a newspaper. The story is he was carjacked, and his car blew up.
Somehow Snapper falls into place in this episode. He’s dating Chris Brooks, Stuarts daughter, and she’s in love with him. Snapper politely leaves out the news that he is also sleeping with Sally.
So, drama has always been a thing in Genoa City, clearly! What did you think of this extremely old flashback episode?
