CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that incredible Emmy’s week comes to an end, we get one powerful performance by a very young Camryn Grimes in the late 1990s. Grimes, who played Cassie Newman at the time, took home an Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actress. Though Cassie Newman has since passed away, Camryn Grimes continues to play Mariah Copeland (Cassie’s unknown twin sister) on everyone’s favorite daytime drama.
Tensions were high as Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) were in a custody battle for Cassie. Unfortunately, Sharon had Cassie when she was younger and gave her up for adoption. Since then, Sharon has decided that she wanted her daughter back. Luckily for Sharon (but not Cassie), Cassie’s adoptive mother had abandoned her. Cassie’s adopted grandmother agreed that the Newman’s could give the little girl a great life, despite Alice’s will to fight.

As the judge was about to rule a decision, Grimes stood up and gave an award-winning performance. The little girl stood up and expressed how great Sharon and Nick were. Not only was this award-winning for the Emmy critics, but for the judge as well, as Cassie was placed permanently with the Newman’s. Meanwhile, in a strange string of events, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) married Cole (J. Eddie Peck), who also doubled as her stepson in law. So, things got a little bizarre in this episode.
Lastly, Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) was caught red-handed as she downed liquor on the job by her boss, Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John). Neil responded fairly, and she didn’t suffer massive consequences. However, it looks like she has more in common with her mother, Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) than she would like to admit. What did you think of this Emmy-winning performance week? Which performance was your favorite?
