CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers find that filming has been down for MONTHS! Seriously, producers put filming on the backboard in March. As we begin to creep into July, it’s been a long five months without knowing about the current situation in Genoa City, however, there may be some good news on the horizon! Thankfully, producers have filled our time (and cravings) with reruns from the past. Over the past several months, we got to live out our favorite romances, characters, and story plots.

With such a fast-paced world of soap operas, it can be easy to forget characters as they come and go. Watching reruns was an excellent way to be reminded of some of Genoa City’s best faces. For example, It was GREAT seeing Thad Luckinbill ( JT Hellstrom) and  Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) again.

CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Production Restart – Finally Getting Back To Filming!

Who were you most excited to watch on Y&R again during the time of reruns? Did watching the reruns take you back to the point in your life where you watched these shows for the first time? For me, it kept reminding me of sitting on the couch with my mother after school watching it together. All around, it was a great escape from the stressors of COVID-19, but it looks like filming may be getting back to normal.

Deadline has announced that Y&R has sent a notice to the cast and crew announcing that filming will begin on July 6 (should everyone following safety protocol). It was mentioned that this date is a goal and not a promise. If coronavirus numbers begin to rise or if the threat is of concern, it may have to be reconsidered for the safety of the cast and crew. Even should they begin filming on July 6, it could still be several weeks before we see a new episode. Unfortunately, with editing time, it could still be weeks to months until regular programming is back on. As of right now, producers haven’t made an estimation for that. Are you excited to tune in once filming starts back up?
