YouTuber Jake Paul is in the new again and of course, for all of the wrong reasons. The brother of disgraced Jake Paul was reportedly spotted looting at an Arizona mall amid the George Floyd Protests that have been taking place in almost every major city across the United States. Here’s what you need to know.
According to TMZ, the 23-year-old social media star was spotted wearing a mask in a cell phone video with a crowd of protestors at the Fashion Square Mall in Scottsdale. In the clip, Paul can be seen with a crowd inside the mall and at one point one of the protesters launched fireworks inside the building’s entrance.

“Bunch of f–king idiots, bro,” a man’s voice is heard saying, pointing to police outside the mall. “Literally, I walked right here, right up to there.” Us Weekly points out that it’s unclear if the voice in the clip is that of Jake Paul or Andrew Blue, who recorded the footage. “These f–king idiots teargassed me,” the man said. “I ain’t doing s–t, bro. Look at them pointing guns at me. Look at them. Twenty guns on me. Twenty guns on me right now.”
Jake Paul responded to the reports of his involvement in the protests by releasing a statement on Twitter. He said, “To be absolutely clear, neither I nor anyone in our group was engaged in any looting or vandalism. For context, we spent the day doing our part to peacefully protest one of the most horrific injustices our country has ever seen, which led to us being tear-gassed for filming the events and brutality that were unfolding in Arizona.” He added, “We are all doing the best we can to be helpful and raise awareness; this is not the time to attack each other, it’s time to join together and evolve.”
