British royal family news has revealed that the Queen enjoys an excellent relationship with Kate Middleton’s mother, Carole Middleton. It isn’t new news that the Queen is fond of Kate, but not many fans would be aware that Her Majesty is also close with Carole, and the two have a very good relationship.
The report in the Express has claimed that the Queen famously drove Carole around the crowds of their Balmoral Castle when she visited. As well as that, Carole has also paid a visit to the Queen at Birkhall and Sandringham too. But, it would seem that the Queen’s love of horse racing is actually the reason for them being so close.

The Queen owns many race horses of her own, and even attends the Royal Ascot festival every year. However, this year will be different to that, as the Jockey Club have already revealed that the event will be taking place behind closed doors. That means the famous sight of the Queen arriving in her carriage will be missing from this year’s event.
Carole and her husband also have a love for horse racing and own a stake in a race horse. The relationship seemed to stem from their mutual love of the famous pastime, as the couple were invited to the Royal Ascot event in 2012, as they arrived with the Queen for Ladies’ Day. They were even introduced to the monarch’s friends on that summer afternoon.

The relationship is seemingly strong from the outside looking in, as Carole and her husband were front and centre for the photographs during the Queen Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Emily Nash recently revealed in Hello Magazine that the relationship between them is very comfortable, and that’s the main reason why they are able to get along.
She also revealed that it has enabled Kate to remain close to her family, and that has been an important factor in Kate and William’s marriage. However, the Middleton’s were left off the Queen invitations in 2016, which Katie Nicholl revealed in the Daily Mail was unusual.
