British Royal Family News suggests that it’s going to be a very SoCal summer for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. That’s because they have apparently scrapped plans to travel to Scotland to spend a little time with Queen Elizabeth at Balmoral Castle as was previously planned. Instead, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are planning to focus on their own lives in Los Angeles as they continue to try and find that work and life balance with their son, Archie Harrison. Here’s what you need to know.
Apparently, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are looking to let the dust settle in Los Angeles before they start making any major travel plans. But seeing how the global pandemic that is the coronavirus is having everyone scrap their travel plans as it is, it’s very unlikely that Harry and Meghan will travel to Scotland this summer, let alone anywhere else. This means that Queen Elizabeth will miss out on an opportunity to see her great-grandchild Archie Harrison, who just turned one earlier this month.
British Royal Family News: Queen Elizabeth Might Not See Archie Harrison This Summer
Instead, Meghan is hoping to start on her own charity work while looking to get things running with the couple’s new foundation, Archewell. Royal author Leslie Carroll tells Express.co.uk that Meghan wants to balance her life as a public figure and a mother, which is something that she perhaps wouldn’t be able to do under the watchful eye of the monarchy. But now that she and Harry have stepped down from their positions as working members of the royal family, Meghan can finally manage her life her own way.
Carroll said, “What has changed Meghan by stepping back from her full-time duties as a royal is that she will likely have more time to spend with Archie, to enjoy his development day by day. And once the lockdown is over, Archie will be able to spend time with grandma Doria. It’s also likely that we will see Meghan able to carve out a work-life balance that includes a lot of quality time with little Archie.”
So rather than spending time with Queen Elizabeth and his royal cousins back in London, Archie will most likely be spending time with Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland and Meghan’s friends in Los Angeles herself. So far the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made no comments about their summer plans just yet.
