I know that in this time of COVID-19 we’re all going a little crazy in Quarantine and that telemedicine is rather new, but nowhere in the history of any kind of media has anyone ever advocated that anyone go to ‘General Hospital’ in Port Charles New York for anything. Port Charles is a fictional city. Fictional, I know it’s supposedly in New York somewhere, and knowing the creators there’s probably a New York town that’s very similar out there that was used as the basis for Port Charles, but it is not real. Trying to find Port Charles on a map will yield you no results at all.

Also, the doctors on GH are played by actors, actors, they are not actually trained doctors so asking them for medical advice wouldn’t be wise. The only thing they could do for you is to search for WebMD and hope for the best. They do not have the medical training in order to assist you in the time of an actual medical crisis. If you think you are in need of going to the emergency room, we at DSD highly advise calling your doctor first before going to the emergency room. Short of calling your doctor, if you don’t have one some hospitals have registered nurse lines where you can call in and get medical advice. Some.
Still, this is kind of worrisome that people would actually do this. However, I don’t know if this was actually a troll post, if so… then, haha very funny buddy, we get it. However, if it’s someone in actual medical peril then. I worry. We can only hope that this person finds the medical help that they truly need somewhere besides Reddit. I’ll say this, even trusted WebMD will have you convinced that your dying, so please, in this time of crisis, don’t rely on Dr. Google or Web MD. Please call your doctor, it’ll save you a lot of time, mental anguish, and ultimately heartache.
