ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers indicate there is a major shift in the universal balance. After years of conflict between Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan), it looks like we’re seeing a ceasing of tensions. It’s long overdue, and here’s why.

ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Blinded

The hate between these two has been so great, they barely notice the effect it’s had on Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez). Her behavior has gone downhill fast, and it gets worse with every drama her parents get wrapped up in. Valentine and Lulu couldn’t talk it out and agree on anything when Charlotte was kidnapped by Cassandra Pearce (Jessica Tuck), for example. They seemed more intent on arguing about who’s fault it was than getting Charlotte help she probably badly needed then.

They also didn’t do as much about Charlotte’s mystery bodyguard as they should of. Again, they were too worried about their own personal stuff to really pay attention, and Charlotte’s near-drowning turned more into another source of conflict than a call to action. Finally, though, a moment came that woke up at least one person.

ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Turning point

It seems that, as bad a rep as Valentin has, he is genuinely a good person when it comes to Charlotte. When he realized she was aware of his attempted murder of Ava Jerome (Maura West), then made excuses for it, all bets were off. General Hospital spoilers reveal he finally realized there was a serious issue with Charlotte. And he felt getting out of her way is the only way to stop her from making the mistakes he does. It was a rare, completely selfless moment that we didn’t think we see. But it was met with resistance.

In what’s a soap epidemic, Lulu’s anger toward him couldn’t let her sit and consider for one second his decision to not fight for custody was a real act of love. Even Laura Webber (Genie Francis) speaking up for him was not taken as seriously as it should be. So, finally, something gave. And it was Charlotte.

General Hospital spoilers: Cry for help

She was so upset by learning her father wanted to give up she reacted as a troubled kid might. General Hospital spoilers indicate she ran away. Specifically, she ran to Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) office to beg her to take Valentin back. It was a heart-wrenching scene showing a kid traumatized by the cluelessness of her parents. But that desperate move might have gotten through.

Nina actually stood up for Valentin with Lulu as well. And she showed a lot of kindness to Valentin when she begged him to not run away, just be a better man for his kid. It all came to a head and forced Charlotte to finally express everything she’s been holding inside. That woke Lulu up. She and Valentin had a presumably drama-free private chat and it looks like they agreed to him being part of her life.

Going forward, we think this is going to be a game-changer. We’re not seeing a relationship like some online chat suggests, but we are seeing a peaceful co-existence for Charlotte’s sake. And it’s about time. There’s only so long a kid can live in the middle of a war, especially if it means her not seeing a parent she obviously sees as her favorite. And there’s only so long this animosity can go on without getting beyond tedious. Especially when a big part of their war is a dead man who isn’t really dead.
