The 2020 Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony is going to look just a little bit different this year. Because of the ongoing threat from the coronavirus outbreak, this year’s ceremony will be held virtually on Friday, June 26 on CBS at 8 p.m. EST/PST. The awards will still be presented in leading categories, however, the recipients and other special guests will be appearing from their homes, meaning fans will be getting a little sneak peak of their favorite daytime television stars in the comfort of their own living rooms. If the NFL draft can do it, then certainly the daytime television world can do it as well, right?
“The Daytime Emmys are coming home,” President and CEO of NATAS Adam Sharp shared in a press release. “For generations, daytime television has been a source of comfort and continuity that’s never been more important. We’re delighted to join with CBS in celebrating the programs and professionals who never cease to brighten our days.”
