We have the story on what she is accusing them of now.
TLC My 600-Lb Life Spoilers: Fraud, Negligence, and Broken Promises
Whaley is suing Megalomedia for fraud, negligence, and broken promises. She claims that they made the promise to pay all of her medical bills so that she could get her weight loss surgery. She says that all of the cast members were given empty promises about how they were going to make her life better and how she would be much happier. She claims that this had done nothing but make her life worse. She said nothing positive has come out of this for her. “Megalomedia promised…that they would pay all medical bills associated with the television show and related medical care.”

She also said that the cast members of the show should be compensated for the public humiliation that they endure on the show. In court, Whaley said she “relied on those promises to her detriment.” Her medical bills were very expensive and she is still paying on them, much like other former cast members of the show. She told the judge that she held up her end of her contract and lost the weight that she promised she would and then some. She joined the show weighing 679 pounds and when it was over weighed 405 pounds.
Whaley claims that Megalomedia helped with the billing for the surgery. That is when she thought everything was good and that they would be in charge of paying her bills. That is not what happened though, they left her with all of the bills after promising to pay them. She told the court that now she can’t pay these bills and gets calls from bill collectors everyday and this really has had impacts on her mental health.
Megalomedia also took their time with the break that they took from filming during the quarantine. They waited until days after lockdowns were called to stop filming. Many of the cast members were concerned about this because, being obese, they are very high risk for COVID-19. Megalomedia still says that they followed all of the cast member’s contracts on My 600-Lb Life.
