TLC My 600-Lb Life spoilers has been keeping up with the quarantine and many of the shows have been put on hold. One of the shows that was concerned about filming is My 600-Lb Life. Fans of the show were shocked to learn that the filming wasn’t halted until March 26 and this was even when the advisories had gone out about high-risk candidates. Come to find out, many of the cast members of this show are high-risk, so it was surprising that it just continued to be filmed. We have the full story on why it took them so long to stop filming.
TLC My 600-Lb Life Spoilers: Why Did The Show Continue Filming
My 600-Lb Life follows cast members who are obese in order to help them lose weight in order to get gastric bypass surgery. The show was being filmed in three different states and it was filming from March 20 to March 26. Even though the CDC told everyone that “people of any age with severe obesity” were high-risk for getting COVID-19, they still filmed the show. Texas, Florida, and Mississippi are the three states where filming was being done and they all have social distancing rules in place right now.
TLC My 600-Lb Life Spoilers: Filming Halts
“These cast members have a compromised immune system already. They’re not Ok. They’re not feeling comfortable. It’s super dangerous and none of us wants to be the person who gives it to a cast member,” said a crew member. Part of the show entails following the cast members to their doctors and hospitals in order to have their surgeries. Currently, most doctors are taking care of COVID-19 patients and gastric bypass surgeries are not seen as an emergency right now.
Megalomedia spoke up about filming last Friday, “The health and safety of Megalomedia’s show participants and employees is always our top priority, now more than ever. We continue to comply with all local, state, and federal guidelines that cover this unprecedented pandemic. ‘My 600-Lb Life’ is not filming with a single participant at this time.Production of ‘My 600-Lb Life’ has stopped and will not resume until the crisis is resolved. It is our sincere wish that our talent, crews, and their families are being safe and staying healthy during this time.”
As much as we would like to see another season of My 600-Lb Life sooner, we are glad that filming has stopped on the show until the pandemic is no longer affecting all of our lives in the way that it is.
