NBC ‘Days Of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers finds that Steve AKA “Patch” Johnson (Steven Nichols) is currently going through a lot. He’s just found out that his former wife Dr. Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) has moved on with Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) and he just found out that his dear sister, Adrienne Kiriakis (Judi Evans) has met her untimely demise at the hands of Maggie Horton (Suzanne Rogers) and cried like a baby. Poor Steve. In a time like this, he needs someone to lean on. Someone who knows what he’s been through, yet still knows enough about old times to be able to discuss things with him.

After all, Hope lost a year of her life to Dr. Wilhelm Rolf’s (William Utay) schemes too, and she knows enough to be able to discuss old times with him without directly bringing up his past with Kayla. Their bond would go all the way back to the rambo squad days and they could bond over the fact that the ones they loved were no longer here with them. Well, in a sense. Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) died from a brain tumor and Patch divorced Kayla, then Adrienne died. So it looks like ol’ Patch is suffering from a double whammy.

But also, he needs someone around who is going through the same type of recovery that he is. Someone who knows what its like to lay dormant for a year and wake up to find their life stolen from them by someone else. The only person around who could fit that bill would be Hope. We don’t seem to have seen too much of her lately since the whole Princess Gina thing, she’s probably hiding out kind of embarrassed after the joke Princess Gina made of her life, she could also be going through a bit of rehab as well. Brain surgery is still brain surgery after all.
When they find each other they could very well team up to get ol’ Rolf’s goat for good. I don’t know how they could actually do it because this mad scientist doctor is crafty as can be but both of them were screwed over terribly by Rolf and it would be a great bonding experience and an even better love story if somehow these two fell in love this way. Defeating Rolf would give them a shared goal, but through their journey they could really be there for each other. If done right this could be as good as the Rachel/Carl story on Another World was (you OG fans will remember!), but it all depends on if it’s handled right. This doesn’t need to be a quick hookup, this needs to be a slow burn. Not too slow but slow enough so that the fans will truly find the pairing rewarding in the end. I’m willing to open the doors for new possibilities in 2020, let’s hope if it happens that it’s handled with care. Stay tuned!!!
