CBS ‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that Summer Newman (Hunter King) knows about Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) cancer now. Her father, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) finally told her and she was shocked. Summer wanted nothing else but to help, so Nick and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) tell her to keep an eye on Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind). To be a good big sister to her.

Phyllis than asks about Sharon’s scan and how the results were. Nick was very solemn about it, but eventually, let it out that the results weren’t what she was expecting. Phyllis is shocked and says she’s sorry, she feels terrible, Sharon must be terrified. Summer looks at her mother surprised. Summer says, “Wow, you’re really affected by this?”. Phyllis tells her of course she is.

You must be a real emotionless person for your own daughter to be surprised to see you showing empathy to another person. This should be a perfect example of why Nick shouldn’t pursue anything further with Phyllis. Their own child is amazed at her caring that someone in their lives has cancer! Hello! Earth to Nick, Eart to Nick, wake up!

Sure, Phyllis has been decent to Sharon since she found out about her cancer, but to everyone else on Earth, she’s a terrible and disgraceful person. Phyllis though, asks Summer why it’s so surprising to her and Summer is without words. She just dismisses it and carries on with the conversation. It’s great that Phyllis is being caring and considerate towards Sharon in her time of need, but she should be like this all the time. Even after this conversation, Nick continues pressing the issue with Phyllis about their current relationship and Phyllis gives him the cold shoulder. Hopefully, Nick will back off. What do you think? Should Nick have noticed Summers’s comment? Let us know in the comments below.
