CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers find that in light of all of Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) blackmail, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) attempted to come to the rescue with her own blackmail. Adam managed to dethrone Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and take Newman Enterprises away from Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) with blackmail he stirred up from Kansas, with the help from Alyssa Montalvo (Maria DiDomenico). Though the jury is still out about Victor’s guilt regarding the situation, Phyllis’ love affair with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) had the opportunity to save the family.
Nick confides in Phyllis about the storm that is overtaking Genoa City. His family is in turmoil. Adam has taken over the company that his father has taken decades to build. His sister is infuriated, and his mother is in pain. Phyllis has listened to Nick to discuss this for quite some time now. And this week, she has decided to act.

CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Recap: Abby’s Scheme Backfires – Phyllis Takes The Win
For those Y&R fans who don’t recall, Phyllis had a video of Adam admitting to murder. At the time, Phyllis used it to blackmail Abby Newman into handing over her hotel shares. At first, Abby broke into Phyllis’ hotel room and destroyed her video. Once Phyllis admitted there was a copy in a safety deposit box, Abby disguised herself in a red wig and accessed the video, destroying it forever.
All of Abby’s sneaking around has long since gone under the radar. Seriously, I forgot it even happened. However, it came to the limelight now that Phyllis found the perfect time to use that video. Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) went to get the flash drive and use it to blackmail Adam into backing away from the Newman family when she finds out it had already been taken.
Phyllis calls Abby out on stealing the flash drive. At first, Abby smirks and brags to Phyllis that she outplayed her. Until she finds out why Phyllis was looking for it. Suddenly, Abby is disheartened by her own actions. Now, the family seems to be at the mercy of Adam Newman. On another note, when did blackmail become such a common theme in Genoa City?
