Univision Rubí spoilers indicate our leading bad girl might have just made her situation far worse. This remake of a story by Yolanda Vargas Dulché has had several versions, and we see where this one is following the 2004 version in a lot of respects. An episode of the video series Telenovelas are Hell gave us an intro to the iconic version people are comparing this one to. While we’re not sure how accurate it is with the latest twist in her story, we think it’s going to lead to a similar fate as we saw in the video. Here’s what you need to know.

    Univision Rubí Spoilers: Ticking bomb

We’ll be upfront. We are not feeling Héctor Ferrer (Rodrigo Guirao) at all. We get Rubí is all about escaping poverty, but a guy willing to leave his disabled fiancé at the altar isn’t exactly a catch. We talked a bit yesterday about how her better bet is to get over the love thing. He’s jealous, as well as violent. He’s also essentially keeping her captive in their house. And Alejandro Cárdenas (José Ron) isn’t looking like a better option. He seemed a bit obsessive a year later over Rubí, especially considering they were together for about a minute. However, it looks like she can’t help herself. This time, her choice is sure to have disastrous consequences.

    Univision Rubí Spoilers: The escape

It seems Rubí does have a little bit of pride. While she’s a gold digger, she’s willing to risk it all on someone else after being mistreated. Rubí spoilers reveal Héctor hit her after finding her at Lucas’ (Marcus Ornellas) place after a photoshoot. He even went so far as to order her to hide the injury and play the happy wife at a client meeting instead of running home to her mother. Who, by the way, apparently didn’t die—yet. She’s stable now, but it’s still at a critical part of her recovery. But Rubí didn’t know that. She begged to go home and see her, but Héctor wouldn’t budge. So, she showed some guts and made things happen.

She packed a bag and threw it out to a helper, then pretended to go on a job. When Hector wanted her followed, she managed to outrun the guy and met up with Lucas. Thanks to his money, she was able to board a plane back to Mexico. And we’re pretty sure she’s planning to latch on to him going forward. After all, he’s rich. And, more importantly, he can make her rich and famous by having her model his designs. But she might have miscalculated.

Univision Rubí Spoilers: On her trail

Rubí is safe at home for now, and got to see her mother. However, this peace won’t last. Rubí spoilers show Héctor making threats in the promo for Monday, February 3rd. He’s determined to track her down and bring her back where she belongs. Considering the original had Rubí falling from a 20-story building and surviving (and this version shows Future Rubí with a scarred face and limp), we assume she’ll meet a similar accident. It’ll likely be at Héctor’s hands. We’re looking forward to seeing how they handle the situation, as well as what happened between her and Lucas. After all, Future Rubí is a recluse with no man around, and is very bitter about love. Something big had to happen.
