The trailer for ‘The Green Knight’ released today and has people very interested! Starring Dev Patel, Alicia Vikander and Joel Edgerton, the film focuses on King Arthur’s nephew, Sir Gawain. The film is from A24 productions, responsible for many hits last year like ‘The Lighthouse’, ‘Midsommar’, ‘The Farewell’, and ‘Uncut Gems’. Viewers have noticed their streak and are commenting on how the production company can seem to do no wrong. Automatically adding ‘The Green Knight’ to their watchlist. This movie has so much to offer aside from their production company though!
Patel stars as Sir Gawain, who hungers after having his own story. He decides to face the Green Knight, who is called the tester of men. According to its summary on IMDB, ‘The Green Knight’ is ” an epic fantasy adventure based on the timeless Arthurian legend, “The Green Knight” tells the story of Sir Gawain (Dev Patel), King Arthur’s reckless and headstrong nephew, who embarks on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic emerald-skinned stranger, and tester of men. Trailer For ‘The Green Knight’ Released Today – Story Of King Arthur’s Nephew!
The trailer itself is dark and ominous. Playing eerie music and thundering horns. It’s short and doesn’t give much away except the split moment we see the Green Knight himself. Perhaps this would have been a better surprise, but exciting none the less.
Patel has been a dominant actor and playing Sir Gawain will be a fantastic role for him. Sir Gawain is simply afraid to have lived for nothing and wants his own tales to tell and be passed on after he’s gone. Unfortunately, there is no set release date. Only “this Summer” so we will need to keep an eye out for future updates and releases.
