TLC Welcome to Plathville Spoilers gave us a look at a very religious family on Welcome to Plathville. The Plath’s live on their 55-acre farm in rural Georgia. They don’t watch television or use mobile phones and the kids are all home schooled. Barry and Kim Plath give their kids strict rules to abide by and they are very religious. Olivia Plath, who is Ethan Plath’s wife, has been the star of the show, for better or worse. There has been a lot of controversy about her being on the show because of her opinions on how the Plath children were raised. She spoke out about religion and we have the scoop!

TLC Welcome to Plathville Spoilers: Olivia and Ethan’s Lives

Olivia and Ethan live a pretty different life now that Ethan is out of his parents’ home. Olivia wants to live a normal life with him and she has shared her thoughts on how the Plaths live. Olivia doesn’t think it is fair that the children cannot have cell phones or watch television. They have minimal technology in their home and Olivia has said they are sheltered.

TLC Welcome to Plathville Spoilers: Olivia Speaks Out on Religion

Ethan has been exposed to a lot of new things because of Olivia. Many fans of the show love her, but there are others that say she just causes drama. Olivia is a lot more liberal, but she was raised just as religious as Ethan. These two did meet at a church camp, after all. Fans of the show wanted to know what Olivia practices for her religion and if she and Ethan are still religious.

On Olivia’s Instagram story, she wanted to hold a question and answer session. Her fans were very happy to ask questions about life and religion. She said to those who asked about religion, “Growing up in a conservative, legalistic church left a bad taste of Christianity in my mouth. As an adult, I’ve wrestled hard with what I believe and what religion I want in my life. And here’s what I decided… I don’t want religion. I want nothing to do with religion. I want a relationship. I identify as a Christian, and I love Jesus. Jesus without all the crap and rules and hate and judgment.”

Fans loved her response! She shared with them that she also has friends from all walks of life. She wrote this about them, “They challenge my thinking, they introduce me to new concepts and they keep me from boxing myself in. I never want to be around or tolerate people who only think like me, because that’s the greatest self-harm one can do. Forget the rules, cut the crap… All these people out there passing hate and judgment are claiming to love Jesus, but they sure as heck aren’t acting like Him!!”

It is so nice of Olivia to share her take on things and we hope to see more of her. TLC has still made no announcement about a new season of Welcome to Plathville, but you can keep up with Olivia on social media.
