The CW ‘Riverdale’ spoilers finds that we know that this is supposed to be a show about Archie Comics characters but this show barely even looks like the Archie landscape anymore. I think they have exhausted everything to do with the gym storyline. I mean come on how many shots of Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) in the gym can we have before it gets old? Yes, we get it, he has abs. So what?

Can we petition to get Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) back at ‘Riverdale’ High? Oh wait, it’s senior year and no one cares now? Crap. That saddens me because some of us hate Stonewall Prep. We gave it a chance, it was fun for a while but the storyline has been exhausted and the characters involved in the stonewall prep storyline are not interesting at all. They attempted to make the characters more interesting by giving them tragic backstories but honestly, I can’t tell the stonewall bully dude from Betty’s new brother the CIA Agent. (I am sorry I can’t think of either of their names right now, no shade.)

The CW ‘Riverdale’ Spoilers: What Even Is This Show Anymore?

This is a story about high school students but they are hardly in high school at all. They act more like 20 somethings and honestly I could buy the story a bit more if they were. But then again that is a teen soap thing. The characters don’t really act like teens, however, I thought this season was supposed to be more ‘fun’ oriented than the last couple of seasons but apparently they threw that idea completely out the window!

The whole Archie’s Uncle giving drugs to the football players seemed kind of… overdone, to be honest. Didn’t we just get through with a drug storyline? Geeze, ‘Riverdale’ runs rampant with drugs it seems. And how long until we find out that Archie’s uncle is secretly involved with Hiram’s organization somehow? At least we know with Hiram we have someone to hate but this other guy I don’t know about. Sure, he’s Fred Andrew’s (Luke Perry) brother but unfortunately, Fred isn’t around to give us the deets on what we should watch out for. So should we believe Archie’s Mom, Mary Andrews (Molly Ringwald)? She seemed pretty against him.

The CW ‘Riverdale’ Spoilers: Has Archie Really Saved The Guy From Anything?

Poor Mad Dog Munroe (Eli Goree), I think they’ve done him quite dirty as a character. They bring in the new guy in an attempt to have Archie ‘save’ somebody but has Archie really saved the guy from anything? Sure he’s not fighting it out in juvie every day but is that really any different from what he does at the gym daily? I guess you could say the one difference between juvie and being on the outside in ‘Riverdale’ is that on the outside he has a chance of survival, provided one of the ghoulies or whomever Archie is fighting this week doesn’t use him as collateral damage.

Okay so the Principal Honey (Kerr Smith) attempted to reign Cheryl Blossom (Madeline Pesch) in by hiring an actual cheer coach, Mrs. Appleyard (Emily Tennent). Cheryl was resistant to this because hi, hello, it’s Cheryl, what else is she going to be? In spite of all this, the typically pretty lax Principal Honey called her bluff and said that the new coach was here to stay because according to the new school counselor Mrs. Burble (Gina Torres), Cheryl has too much responsibility on her at school and at home. Cheryl suggested subjugated her to laundress and I guess that’s what happened because instead of focusing on cheer routines like Mrs. Appleyard wanted to do and lead them to state cheerleading competition like a normal high school cheering squad, ‘Riverdale’ fell back on its old standby during the football game and put on a full-scale ‘cheerleading’ performance that… made no sense? Not that any of the musical numbers in this show really make sense but this one seemed to come way out of the left-field all things considered. The sad thing is, the chorus is stuck in my head and I can’t get it out. Send help.

And finally, we come to the article that was actually interesting in this episode and that was Veronica Lodge’s (Camila Mendes) new business venture. Apparently earlier in the episode Cheryl had made sno-cones out of her family’s famous maple syrup, and Veronica, even though she’s only 18 and underage, has started making rum. So what has she done now? She’s made her signature rum, from her Grandmother’s recipe that her Daddy, unfortunately, had trademarked so she can’t use it, but now with the addition of Cheryl’s syrup, she can. She proposed this business venture to Cheryl and it looks like these two are in for some beautiful times together. This is the storyline I’m here for. The other fragments can just… go away. But we’ll see how this plays out, won’t we? Stay tuned!!!
