The CW Riverdale spoilers finds that, tonight, everyone saw a school guidance counselor about the issues that they’ve been having.I think that was a nice way to acknowledge that every character’s life in Riverdale has been a shitshow since about season 2. Well, really, season 1 if we’re splitting hairs but I’m glad we finally have in-universe licensed professionals agreeing with us. It gives me heart. We started off by addressing Betty Cooper’s (Lilli Reinhart) issues and let me just say that our girl handled herself like a champ going up against Alice Cooper (Madchen Amick). Betty has been through the ringer, her own mental issues coupled with the whole… weirdness that is the Cooper family dynamic. She took her Mom down and I could not be prouder.
The CW Riverdale spoilers: Riverdale goes to Therapy!
What I want to know is when the hell did Alice become such a prude? This is not the 1992-era bad girl that we saw just last year. Where did this 1950’s era prude come in from? I think Mrs. Burble (Gina Torres) was right to call her out on having control issues but she just NOW figured out that Betty and Jughead were having sex? And she just now found the birth control? Like really? Of all the times you’ve been a Mom and done laundry or cleaned the house and you haven’t taken notice of her pills until now?! And what is with the sudden anti-birth control stance? Is it just because you were jealous that you didn’t have the foresight to procure birth control when you were Betty’s age? And where was all this “She’s a child!” mentality WHEN THE GIRL WAS PERFORMING A STRIP TEASE AT THE WHITE WYRM LAST YEAR?!

The CW Riverdale spoilers: Sorry I… just have a lot of feelings. Moving on.
Archie, poor Archie..He’s truly lost without his Dad but I must say I didn’t see the diagnosis of ‘addiction’ coming. That was one for the books and I don’t know if I’ll actually agree with Mrs. Burble on that one but oh well I’m glad this poor kid finally got a chance to cry it out. He’s been needing that cry for a good long while now. Addiction or not, I don’t think it’s going to stop him from going out at night and playing the caped crusader at all. Archie has a mission and he’s going to be winging pell mell towards it until he feels its been accomplished. He wants to take back Riverdale from the weirdos but Mrs. Burble’s right about one thing, he needs help to do this. He’s just one kid, the entire town needs to pitch in and so far… they just ain’t.
Cheryl… oh my God finally Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) talks to a therapist and thank God she did. She was defensive at first, but she would be, she’s Cheryl. Mrs. Burble kindly and gently addressed all that she had been through and of course Cheryl was quick to cut her off when she got to the stuff that hurt – the things involving Jason. It didn’t take long however for Cheryl to crack and reveal that she thinks she has indeed lost her mind and she’s not entirely sure when it happened. Thank God she finally addressed it. Thank God, now she can start to heal. She also addressed the Julian thing, there is apparently a test that you can take for being a Chimera and Cheryl is not… which can only mean one thing about the whole Julian thing – either someone is lying, or Jason Blossom (Trevor Stines) is the one that consumed their triplet in the womb, which might mean that Julian is inhabiting Jasons’s body and moving it around or, someone at Thistlehouse is trying to drive Cheryl insane by moving Jasons’s body around.
The CW Riverdale Spoilers: Veronica Luna
Veronica Lodge – excuse me – Veronica Luna (Camilla Mendes) I must admit when her session started I wasn’t too interested because it was focusing on her Daddy issues and everything that’s been rehashed a thousand times before and I’m not too into hearing about how badly Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos) has treated her for the tenth billionth time. Yes Veronica, we get it. You have Daddy issues and you have a million good, justified reasons to have them. But when the counselor suggested that she kill him on the battlefield, Veronica really rose to the occassion. She rescinded the Harvard education that her Dad bribed for her and she decided to apply for a rival school instead. And she told him that her own rum would rival and outsell his and you know what? I believe it, you go girl!
Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) finally got the reality check that he’s been needing. The guidance counselor pin-pointed his odd obsession with hero-worshipping this shadow figure of a Grandfather he has and told him that he needed to acknowledge the real people in his life, the people that had actually sacrificed things so that he could have the best life – his Dad! I’m glad someone decided to take FP’s side for once in this miserable show. He doesn’t get too many people sticking up for him and I’m glad that Mrs. Burble did that. I’m also glad that they had such a tender moment at the end.
I still do not know what’s going on with the whole ‘Jughead’s been murdered’ plot but I think it may have something to do with his Grandfather and this may be an elaborate ploy to draw him out since he mentioned to Betty that besides him and Stonewall Prep’s headmaster, whose name I forget at the moment, I predict the final episode will be a battle of the geezers. Jug’s Grandad will show up to finally ‘finish off’ his old rival and take back his authorship once and for all! Okay that’s just a prediction, who knows if it’ll come true or not but hey… it’d be funny. Stay tuned!!!
