General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) got a Christmas miracle. After a long wait, a court battle, and an iffy medical procedure, Frankendrew (Roger Howarth) is no more. He’s back to being Franco Baldwin (Howarth) again. This has been a great thing for the family, but tough for Franco. So, what’s next? Here’s what you need to know.
‘General Hospital’ spoilers: Harsh reality
Poor Franco’s had a tough re-entry to life in Port Charles. On the surface, he’s the luckiest. He has no memory of this whole mess. He just woke up one day as himself again. But it’s the aftermath that’s been hard on him.
General Hospital spoilers relate he got some crazy news. Well, besides the fact he was someone else for a time. He also learned about Frankendrew’s brief hookup with Kim Nero (Tamara Braun). But even harder to deal with was the death of Drew Cain (Billy Miller). He dealt with a bit of guilt over the circumstances of both those situations. So, what’s next for this character?
‘General Hospital’ spoilers: Future uncertain?
We can’t help but wonder if this whole Frankendrew thing is truly over. The procedure was, of course, untested. Andre Maddox (Anthony Montgomery) made it clear there was no baseline for Franco when he did the procedure. He also made it clear how daunting the odds of success were. Could we possibly see a bit of a relapse? It’s not out of the question. After all, what ever goes perfectly right in soaps? It’s possible he could have moments where he remembers stuff from Drew’s life, if not revert. We wonder if there was recent evidence of this.
‘General Hospital’ spoilers: Drew Cain’s potential return!
ABC aired an old episode New Year’s Eve. This episode just happened to feature Drew himself, and his relationship with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco). Could the network be giving us a hint at what’s to come? They aired a repeat Christmas Eve as well. Interestingly enough, it featured Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) learning about the convoluted story of his birth and childhood. This was something he talked to Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) about in the last all-new episode before the holiday. It seems there might be a method to their madness in picking repeats. If so, this could be a hint of what’s to come. We’re not sure how to feel about that, if so.
We didn’t mind the Frankendrew thing, but it would likely be best to close that door finally. However, if they do go this route, there’s a lot of potential for story here. Especially if the man himself ever comes back. Let’s face it, no body pretty much says the character is fair game to return. We’re actually a little disappointed they didn’t embrace the idea of Drew learning about himself, and they didn’t give more time to him connecting with Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson). If the real Drew did come back and Franco was having some memory of Drew’s past, they could have some interesting scenes together. Theoretically, both parties would be friendlier and more cooperative after everything they went through.
