Coronation Street Spoilers finds that it has been an excellent 13-year stint on the cobbles for Kym Marsh, who portrays Michelle Connor. But like all good things, they must come to an end eventually, and that is the case just after Christmas. The news was revealed a few months ago now, with bosses revealing that it will be an explosive exit for one of the show’s most beloved characters. Her exit is likely to centre around the ongoing plan that she has in mind revolving her cheating ex-fiance Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill).
Coronation Street Spoilers: Explosive Final Scenes For Michelle
There is a feeling that we are building up to something huge for Michelle following explosive scenes that aired on Wednesday night. During the double-bill, we saw her expose her cheating fiancé at the altar as residents from the street were astounded. She told the guests how Robert cheated on her with Vicky, before getting her pregnant and then asking the women carrying his baby to marry him. Everybody in the church was shocked apart from Carla Connor (Alison King), who was aware of the plan Michelle had. Earlier in the week, Michelle managed to persuade Robert to sign over the bistro to her, and she revealed to him at the alter that it was part of her plan to get revenge. In the final scenes of the episode, we saw Michelle tell her closest friends that she plans to sell the bistro and move away, which looks to be how she departs the street, but already fans on social media are questioning whether Robert will let her do that. Some have suggested that he may have a sinister plan of his own.
Coronation Street Spoilers: Marsh Explains Her Reasons For Leaving
Michelle has been involved in some of the biggest storylines in the soap since her arrival. However, she has admitted that she plans on utilising her time away from the soap on other projects. In an interview with Hello Magazine, she spoke of her departure from the street. She said: “In my head, it was just a case of wanting to go and try other stuff. I had been at Hear’ Say, had a solo career, went into musical theatre, did about four jobs and then went into Coronation Street.Â
“I haven’t experienced an awful lot of stuff outside of the show so I just thought it would be quite nice to tick those boxes and have that little bit more experience.” She will be sorely missed on the cobbles, but viewers are waited for bated breath to see her final moments on the show.
