Christmas Day is nearly here, and Coronation Street have released their sneak peek into what viewers can expect from the cobbles.
The video features all of the characters that are currently involved in major storylines, including Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill), Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) and David Platt (Jack P Shepherd).
However, the part that will catch everybody’s attention is Gary Windass (Mikey North) revealing a bullet in his Christmas box.

In fact, all the residents of Coronation Street have the same parcel, but none of the other characters open theirs.
The Christmas Day storyline will surround the breaking point of the relationship between Gary and Derek Milligan (Craige Els)
Derek has been the cover of Gary’s plot to get back into the factory, and he is helpless in avoiding Gary since he owes him a large amount of money.
According to reports, Derek will reach the end of his patience with Gary and will seek revenge. He will open fire at Winter Wonderland with disastrous consequences for at least one resident of Weatherfield.
One of the show’s directors has teased fans by stating ‘This Christmas episode is a big one.”
It is unclear at this time which characters are in the most danger, but there have been no reports claiming that North is leaving the street and the show’s director also admitted that there are big storylines involving Gary to come next year.
One potential character that could be killed during Derek’s tirade may be Robert. It would be a catastrophic end to what is sure to be a nightmare Christmas period. The former Bistro owner is about to walk down the aisle with Michelle, but he has no idea of what her real motive is.

The soap’s producer Iain Macleod also spoke about how rare a death on the cobbles at Christmas is. The soap’s such as EastEnders and Emmerdale commonly use the festive episodes to kill characters off, but that hasn’t happened in a long time on the street.
There was certainly a close call last year when Liz McDonald (Beverley Callard) was fighting for her life after a hit and run from Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews).
However, that was the closest that we have come on Coronation Street. That looks set to change this year if the revelations are anything to go by. But, which character will it be?
We will have to wait and watch with bated breath on Christmas Day.
