‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: What goes over the devil’s back will always come up under his belly
‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ (B&B) spoilers finds that right now it looks like Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) is having his cake and eating it too. He has his four year old son with him and he’s sharing custody with Hope Logan (Annika Noelle), while not the family arrangement that he wanted, it’s not a bad thing. It certainly does have its perks, according to him. Looks like one of those things is now having Hope tied to him forever though Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri), but.. The thing is what Thomas doesn’t realize is that Douglas is watching all this. And sometimes the best observers are indeed, children.
‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: Monkey see, monkey do
Right now, at four, this is something that is viewed as positive by little Douglas. But wait until he gets a little older. While four year olds aren’t as aware of the politics of human relationships as older children are, Douglas is not going to be a cute little four year old forever. Sooner or later he’s going to start growing up and when he does, he’s going to have one source to emulate for the way he handles things, and that’s going to be Thomas.

One can only hope that Douglas is smarter than his Dad and sees where Thomas has gone wrong, and chances are he will – someday. But like all people, Douglas is going to have to go through puberty sooner or later and while that happens there’s a good chance that he could emulate exactly what he’s learned in the most horrific mirror-image that Thomas could have ever dreamed of. Let’s look at a few of the lessons that little Douglas has learned so far, shall we?
‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: When you love someone, you never, ever, let them go.
Little Douglas has watched as Thomas has relentlessly pursued Hope. Even though Hope is basically already spoken for and married. He has illustrated to Douglas time and time again that when you’re in love with someone, it’s perfectly okay to develop an obsession with them. As long as you love them that isn’t weird, or creepy, or dangerous. Everything Thomas has done he has done in the name of love and according to him that makes it all okay.
‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: “Good people keep secrets”
Now, sometimes secrets are warranted, like when you’re trying to throw someone a surprise birthday party or when you’ve hidden Christmas gifts. But these ‘secrets’ that Thomas keeps are potentially damaging. Now, some of you will argue that Douglas wasn’t really present for the latest round of “good people secrets” that Thomas had doled out. But the original secret, the one where he kept Hope’s baby’s identity from her for months and held Douglas to the secret as well? How about that? Don’t tell me that isn’t going to send a message to a kid, because it does.
‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: Love means never having to say your sorry
Now this one also falls on Hope as well, because it doesn’t matter what Thomas does, she always seems to excuse his behavior. However, Thomas uses this to his advantage. He knows that Hope will forgive him so he pushes the envelope constantly. Has Thomas ever been punished, aside from having to sign divorce papers, for what he did to her? Not by Hope, but by Brooke Logan which unsurprisingly didn’t work because Thomas is far past the age which ‘punishment from Mom’ would have any sort of impact. Hope is far too soft with him and Thomas uses this to his full advantage.
‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: Making a woman uncomfortable just means its working!
This has all sorts of uncomfortable connotations that will have horrible repercussions when Douglas starts dating. If there ever is a girl that he likes that doesn’t return his affections then unless the crazy skips a generation he may turn straight up stalker and claim its love just to get brownie points. This is not a good thing because usually that’s when it isn’t love but rather a case of being blinded by one’s hormones (it happens to us all at one point or another). But I am genuinely afraid that in Douglas’s case, his future uncontrolled hormones may turn into something dangerous, or even violent, if left unchecked. Even if it doesn’t quite escalate to that, it could still leave him with mental scars, not to mention potentially scarring whomever could be on the receiving end of that.
‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: Whatever you do, don’t get help. You don’t need it.
As much as Thomas stated that he would get help after Brooke pushed him over the edge of the Cliff House, have we seen one therapy session? No. Will we see one? Doubtful. Thomas is very unrepentent, it would seem, sure, he offered to get help for whatever was going on inside his head, but has he? Nope. Why? Because he doesn’t think he’s wrong, deep down. This can potentially translate into how Douglas interprets things in the future. Thomas may pass down a sense of entitlement and arrogance in Douglas that may rival even his own when Douglas becomes a teenager. Just because it hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean it won’t.
