Irizarry is no stranger to playing doctors on soap operas. He stared as Dr. Scott Clark on Santa Barbara and on All My Children as Dr. David Hayward. He is known as one of the most iconic soap opera stars and his career simply started as brief guest appearances. That includes his first, small role on Guiding Light as Brandon Luvonaczek. “That was supposed to be a three-day role. They ended up giving me a few more days, and then I had a contract. The character took off, and it was kind of a phenomenon.” He said about his first role.

In the 1980’s, soap operas were having their hay day and were the most popular shows. That was good for Irizarry because he was ready to make a splash as a soap opera actor. He even gained superstar status then and he said it was crazy how much people loved soap opera stars back then! In 2007, Irizarry joined the cast of ‘Young and the Restless’. That part was supposed to only last for three months, but he ended up playing David Chow for two years. It seems that he has taken on some roles that became very popular among fans and he is not complaining one bit!
There is almost nothing he can’t do. In fact, he is a residential real estate agent and a second-level sommelier. This led to him becoming a sales rep for a wine distribution company. He loves wine and he loves the social aspect of this position. He said that it could turn into a problem because Vincent Irizarry loves to drink wine! We know that if the soap acting doesn’t work out for him, he has this awesome position to fall back on! We know how much we appreciate him as an actor and we love that he continues to work on daytime television, not only for us, but for his fans as well!
