‘Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers fans have been talking non-stop about Daniel Goddard’s sudden departure from the hit CBS soap as Cane Ashby. A lot of people feel as though the move was made suddenly and without warning, much to everyone’s surprise, including the actor himself. In fact, there has been a lot of speculation over the reason why Daniel was let go from his role as Cane Ashby. Here’s what you need to know.
As many fans know, Daniel Goddard has played Cane Ashby since 2006. Needless to say, he has been well-received and liked by both his fans and the cast and crew of ‘Young and the Restless’. But for some reason or another, producers have decided to let the actor go, which according to a lot of people, is now being seen as a controversial move.
‘Young and the Restless’ News: Is This The Reason Why Daniel Goddard Got Fired?
One theory is that Daniel was let go because of the Cane and Traci story line, in which it appeared as though there was a romance developing between the two characters. Unfortunately, the story line wasn’t well received with fans, many of whom complained over the May and December romance. After all, Cane was just blindsided over his wife Lily Winter’s (Christhel Khali) decision to pull the plug on their marriage. Would Cane move on that quickly with someone that he would consider more of a friend than a romantical interest? That’s what viewers seemed rather perplexed over.
So far producers for ‘Young and the Restless’ have remained relatively quiet over their reasons to let Daniel go. Some people believe that it’s doubtful that Daniel would have been fired over a story line that he had no creative control over.
