‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers have made fans who love all things otherworldly happy lately. In recent weeks, we had a séance that seemed to get at least a small reaction from Oscar Nero (Garren Stitt), and the appearance of two psychics who seem to be the real deal. But did one make a bit of slip? Here’s what you need to know.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Chelsea Lambas (Jen Ray), What You Need To Know On Mysterious Character!
With the appearance of our first psychic, Sibley Gamble (Veronica Cartwright), we saw that Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin) isn’t exactly living the peaceful afterlife. She’s mad, and she made it very clear through Sibley. It seemed a bit unusual, as Kiki doesn’t seem earthbound. That wouldn’t be unusual if she was, given the circumstances of her passing, but it laid the ground work for what’s ahead.
‘General Hospital’ spoilers: Take two
After Sibley’s departure, which included a cryptic message for Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth), we had Chelsea Lambas come on the scene. Played by actress and GH fan Jen Ray, she appeared for the first time in the July 26th episode. She not only backed up the warning Franco got (and delivered a message for him from Kiki), but she also backed up Kiki’s state of mind by informing Ava that she is, in fact, mad. It doesn’t seem like that Crimson cover made a difference. Chelsea’s got a great presence, and the actress nailed her kooky character. We especially loved her delivery of the Crimson interview being “very informative.” There’s just one little issue.
‘General Hospital’ spoilers: The slip
There’s an etiquette to psychic work. Yes, the portrayal of messages just randomly coming as they’re supposed to is pretty on. It’s also pretty dead-on that there’s not always a control over these messages, and the message might not always be what the querant wants to here.
The issue lies with the fact most reputable psychics have an understanding of consent (like, you wouldn’t be able to ask a psychic about a friend or family member’s personal stuff), nor do they just go around randomly telling someone a message that was relayed for someone else. Chelsea did just that when she informed Ava of the message Kiki left for Franco. This is usually supposed to be kept between the deceased and the person they intended the message for.
Even with that little breech, we’re enjoying her character and we’re looking forward to what else she’ll do over her tenure on the show.
