The singer Zara Larsson has cut ties with her music director Ryder Ripps after she accused him of body-shaming his ex- Azealia Banks.
Zara Larsson Blasts Ryder Ripps!
The latter had leaked some messages to suggest that, which rubbed up Zara the wrong way. In a post to her fans on Instagram, she mocked Ryder with the following comments: “So, who knows any good creative directors lol.” It was a drastic decision, and not one that should be taken lightly. So what made Zara act in that manner?
Given the fact that International Women’s Day was upon us, Zara has always rooted for women’s rights. Naturally, any perceived attack on members of the opposite sex has given her the licence to act in kind. And that is what Zara did. She added: “It’s not even about this specific convo, specially about me. It’s just tiring to always see women’s bodies being this… “funny” topic. Ya, my arms are genetically bigger.”
But it is not just Azealia’s experience that has made Zara feel like this. She admitted that she had been a victim of such a thing. This was not helped by the fact that her living exposes her to audiences all over the world, with ever-increasing scrutiny. She continued: “That’s just what my body type is like, and honestly, it’s starting to get to me because people are constantly pointing it out like it’s a bad thing even though I literally can’t change it.
“But I see these comments literally everyday, and I never know what to say or if I should say anything at all. Just know, I’m way healthier now than I’ve been for a long time.” Interestingly, Zara is not seeking to change her ways. Rather, she is becoming happier with the way she looks, irrespective of what people say. That is how things should be: “I actually have three meals a day.
“I’m not constantly cold, I have energy, and I actually love the way my a*s is getting fat,” she said. And she concluded her rant by stressing how she intends to keep calling out such unsavoury behaviour: “Again, this is bigger than just a private convo. Like, can we all just STOP commenting on other people’s bodies? Where’s the fun in that?”
