On the Call Her Daddy podcast, Tana Mongeau admitted something that, was a bit surprising considering how young she is, but at the same time totally made sense. She said in order to make ends meet when she moved out of her parents’ house at 15, there was a time where she sold drugs.
She said that she did move in with a boyfriend and lived with him for a time, but ultimately she wanted to live on her own so while she worked at Pacsun and retail stores for while, it looks like this drug selling thing was a definite side business that she had.

The thing is, in the state of Nevada, cannabis is completely legal. So Tana did not technically do anything wrong by selling pot, I’m not sure that you can do that while underage but since Tana is 22 now, it’s kind of water under the bridge at this point.
Tana says that she did what she had to do in order to get away from her abusive household. The breaking point for her was when her Father got violent with her and tossed a charging brick at her head and knocked her out. That was the point in which Tana says that she packed up all of her stuff and moved in with her boyfriend in order to leave the extremely screwed up situation she was in.
She says that when she and Jake were together that they were hounded by the media and at one point she couldn’t go anywhere without a phone being shoved in her face to take photos and in 2019 she was having suicide ideations, mostly from the media being at her door constantly but she was also trying to process her obviously unprocessed childhood and family trauma. It got to the point that she was self-medicating with drugs and trying to escape reality by not dealing and sleeping all day.
She mentioned benzos at some point, though she did not elaborate on what all she did exactly, it all sounded very illicit. So I guess that explains why the 2nd season of Tana Turns 21 got cancelled. Yike. It makes me wonder if she has actually done rehab or if she plans to do it? We’ll keep you updated. Stay tuned!!!
