‘Young and the Restless’ spoilers impart that General Hospital actress Brytni Sarpy will be joining the cast of Y&R. Sarpy plays the character of Valerie Spencer on the hit ABC soap and will play the role of Elena Dawson upon joining the cast of Y&R. Here’s what you need to know.
‘Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: General Hospital’s Brytni Sarpy Joins Y&R From General Hospital
As of Feb. 8th 2019, it was reported by Soapoperadigest.com that Brytni Sarpy of General Hospital will be joining the cast of The Young and the Restless as Elena Dawson. It is unknown what will happen to her character Valerie Spencer on General Hospital at the moment but she will begin taping in Genoa City next week, so whatever happens, it will probably happen fast.
The character of Valerie joined GH in 2015 and it seems her life can be described as a series of unfortunate events. She was held hostage at gunpoint by Luke Spencer, then her Mom, Pat Spencer, passed away tragically. She developed feelings for her cousin and Lulu’s husband Dante after he managed to talk her out of revenge against Luke, but she was the side-girl until he worked things out with his wife Lulu. During this time she also managed to rack up Dillon Quartermaine on her bedpost but happiness was not to be.

Lulu got her revenge by having Johnny Zacharra kidnap and leave her in a burning cabin to die. Fortunately, she was rescued but her hard luck didn’t end there, after being used by Curtis Ashford for her police connections, she seems to have had some recent drama with her friend Kristina after they shared a kiss, which leads one to ask the question, with the recent rash of murders in Port Charles, can the poor girl even catch a break?
Maybe its good that Valerie seems to be getting out of Dodge for awhile. No word on what will happen to Sarpy’s character but for those Valerie fans out there, we hope she escapes the chopping block, although there is no word on what will happen to her character. Taping on the Y&R set will begin this week and there is no word on who Elena Dawson is or how she will affect the storyline just yet, although it is said that this is a contract role for Sarpy and that she will be amongst Y&R’s major players.
