Donald Trump, who is busy celebrating his presidential win, said that Prince Harry would receive “no special treatment” in America.
Harry Lied Regarding His Drug Use On His Visa Application
Trump, who has claimed that he was Queen Elizabeth’s favorite president she had ever met, suggested in March that Harry could be deported from the United States.
Harry lives in Montecito, California, with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. But that could soon change.
The Duke has been under fire from conservative think tank Heritage Foundation. They question why Harry was allowed into the US when he lied on his visa application about his drug use.
In Harry’s controversial tell-all memoir, “Spare,” which was released in January 2023, he essentially bragged about his recreational drug use, mentioning his past with marijuana, cocaine, and magic mushrooms.
In September, Judge Carl Nichols ruled that the document should remain private. Visa applicants are required by law to be forthcoming about their use of illegal substances, whether it’s past or present.
In October, the Heritage Foundation submitted a new court filing to try to reopen the case. The Biden administration barred the group from seeing confidential submissions to the judge.
The group said that answers on Duke’s visa should have been disclosed. Not making them public may compromise the integrity of the US government.
Before the ruling, Donald Trump said that Harry would “be on his own” if he won the presidential election and claimed Harry had “betrayed the Queen.” He argued that the Biden administration had been “too gracious” with Harry since he moved to America.
Trump declared,
“I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the Queen. That’s unforgivable. He would be on his own if it were down to me.”
Royal Experts Urge Harry And Meghan To Have A “Backup Plan”
With the new administration being straight Republican, royal experts have suggested that it may be time for Harry and Meghan to come up with a “backup plan” should Trump decide to run them out of America.
Eric Trump echoed his father’s sentiments, saying that Harry was safe only because “no one cares” about him. He explained that his father loved the late Queen and the Duke and Duchess caused her a lot of pain when they stepped down as working royals.
Conversely, he praised Prince William and Kate Middleton, saying the future King has yet to make a misstep and Princess Catherine has been such a rock to the next generation of the royal family.
In 2016, Meghan called Trump “divisive” and “misogynistic.” In 2020, the Sussexes were accused of breaking royal protocol (no surprise there) by vaguely referring to Trump in a video message during Biden and Trump’s campaigning for the presidential election.
Claims surfaced that they were endorsing Joe Biden, who later became president. The royals are not supposed to speak on anything political in any way.
Trump was asked during a White House briefing how he felt about their comments, and he responded,
“I’m not a fan of hers, and I would say this, and she probably has heard that. But I wish a lot of luck to Harry because he’s going to need it.”
