Whoopi Goldberg has slammed talk show host Bill Maher in response to his comments about Covid-19 protocols.
Whoopi Goldberg Blasts Bill Maher Following His Comments On Covid-19 Protocols-‘Stay Away From Everybody’
Whoopi was speaking following Bill’s dissatisfaction with the fact that the American population has been following such regulations for around 2 years with no sign of them disappearing.
Although there is a fine line between ensuring that liberty is respected and trying to limit that for the sake of the collective good, for Bill, that line has firmly been crossed.
In an episode of his show entitled, ‘Real Time with Bill Maher’ Bill was heard saying the following: “I don’t want to live in your paranoid world anymore.
“Your masked, paranoid world. You know you go out, it’s silly now…They scan your head like you’re a cashier and I’m a bunch of bananas. I’m not bananas — you are.”
Irrespective of whether you agree with Bill’s words, the very fact of the matter is that Whoopi felt his comments were insensitive, especially since there had been fatalities caused by the pandemic.
While there is no denying that people have suffered, it could equally be argued that people are being subjected to rules despite being healthy. And yet, Whoopi felt that this was an issue much bigger than that.
In response, she remarked: “That’s not really funny to people who have lost their kids to this … or people who have lost family members or dear friends to this.”
As a way to come to a compromise, Whoopi stressed that those who did not want to abide by Covid regulations should accept the natural consequences that follow.
This could potentially include being excluded from public places, as well as the fact that it may not be possible to gain employment in the future.
Her following comments confirmed as much: “And you don’t have to do it, but stay away from everybody, because if you’re the one who’s not paying attention, and you’re coughing and sneezing.
“Then stay out of the public, man. Nobody wants this. I don’t want it.” It is safe to say that Whoopi and Bill will not be on speaking terms anytime soon.
