‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers reveal that Ethan and Olivia met Max, Moriah’s boyfriend of a year. Olivia said that it wasn’t like they had never seen each other before, they had, but that every time they’ve hung out, it’s been in a large group and she hasn’t really gotten to have a one-on-one conversation with him.
Max was pretty open about his feelings on the situation, he thought that Ethan and Olivia didn’t want to hang out and thought that they were just making excuses not to get to know him. This feeling of not being accepted instantly endeared him to Olivia, who assured him that it had nothing to do with him personally.

Rather, it had everything to do with her non-relationship with Kim and Barry. She was afraid to be friends with Max, because he and Moriah have a relationship with Kim and Barry and she said that she was having trouble setting up boundaries. So she had to dip out, go to therapy, and deal with what she was going through.
While she was talking you could see the wheels turning in Ethan’s head, I don’t think that it had occured to him what his wife was going through behind the scenes. Either she hadn’t told him or they had been fighting too much for the message to get through, but you could see a semblance of the old Ethan peeking through when Olivia was talking to Max about her experience.
It begs the question, since Ethan seemed more comfortable in a group setting, would group therapy be more beneficial to him?
He seemed to come out of his shell more when he was in a group setting and the focus wasn’t solely on him, and hearing other people talk seemed to set him at ease, he even said he would be open to talking about his family with them if the subject needed to be brought up, Moriah said she was glad to hear him say it because she was afraid to broach the topic.
It does beg the question of maybe group family therapy for Ethan, having his siblings around seemed to set him more at ease.
All that aside, the meeting of the couples seemed to be a success and they got along famously. It was good to see Moriah and Olivia hanging out again, and to know that nothing went down between those two that was particularly catty, it was just a brief pause for processing purposes.
Next week, it looks like they’re going to bond over a girls’ lunch in which Olivia poses a rather personal question – has Moriah found a good birth control? Now we’re getting into the meat of the story! Stay tuned!!!
