‘Welcome to Plathville’ spoilers find that the Plath children all have a lot of different opinions, especially the eldest children. Kim and Barry Plath have raised their children to be very conservative and they have many rules for the house.
They are all homeschooled and are not allowed to use cell phones, social media, or watch television. The Plath’s oldest son, Ethan Plath, has got married and moved as far away as he could from his parents.
He and his wife, Olivia Plath, have a very strict no contact rule with his parents. Ethan told his fans that they needed “space as a couple” and they were very surprised when his parents decided to move about a block away.

There are many scenes in the show where we see Ethan and Olivia trying to avoid his family at all costs. He loves his siblings, but Kim has told him that if he wants to see his younger siblings, they have to be present. He doesn’t want to be around his parents and this is evident on the show.
Olivia told fans, “I know it hasn’t quite aired yet, but I think they have teased it that there is a point at the end of the season where Ethan does talk to his parents and let’s them know how he feels about things. And that was a pretty wild little adventure in and of itself. But as of right now, we just decided, you knw, we’re on a no-contact basis.”

Ethan wanted to share more of his feelings about his parents as well. He told fans, “A lot of times driving, we take a different route than you might expect because a couple months ago I found out my parents moved to Cairo. And I was like, ‘Really?’ It’s kind of close. And I found out the house they bought is like practically three blocks up- it’s like 0.3 miles from our house. I mean, I can’t go to the grocery story or got o work without practically driving right by it.”
Things seem to have gotten better since they stopped talking to Kim and Barry, but they still have their moments. Olivia and Ethan are fine without the contact and feel that his parents are toxic and they are glad that they don’t see them as much as they used to. As of right now, they are pretty happy where they are in their marriage.
